The whole idea of an active birth unit is to combine the benefits of labouring and birthing outside of the pressure of a hospital environment with the necessary advantage of having immediate and first class medical care at hand should complications arise.
We therefore focus equally on the creation of comfortable, private rooms in a peaceful, natural setting and the provision of exceptional obstetric care and emergency facilities.
Linkwood Clinic
Midwife based care with water birth option available in each room and the possibility of the partner rooming in with mom and baby.
Onsite surgery and NICU.
Park Lane Maternity and Active Birth Unit
Maternity hospital with rooming in facilities, private wards, an extensive NICU and a Stork’s nest.
A dedicate room to active birthing with private independant midwives with waterbirth option.
Pretoria
Femina Stork’s Nest Active Birth Unit
A birth unit with 2 private rooms that have comfortable space for active birthing as well as waterbirth option.
The facility is linked to the Stork’s nest and uses the Femina clinic as a back up for any obstetric emergencies. Limited rooming in after birth.

Bella Rose Water Birthing Centre offers a unique and very beautiful environment for natural birthing.
The centre is set deeply in nature
on a farm outside Nelspruit in the province of Mpumalanga.
Bella Rose offers an ideal natural home birthing alternative to both local and expat families living in neighbouring African countries like Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Swaziland.

The ABU has a number of warm spacious rooms, each with a double bed, big bath, soft lighting (with dimmers), CD player, air-conditioning and appropriately decorated to make it a homely environment.
